ABOUT CLOSER TO JAPAN

Beyond the familiar Japan.

Bring Japan closer to you. Closer to Japan is a media platform for discovering meaningful things, places, and ways of life across Japan.

Beyond sightseeing.

Craftsmanship, travel, daily life, and living spaces. We go beyond a single theme to introduce various ways to connect with Japan from multiple perspectives. Our goal is to be a place where those abroad interested in Japan can find their own unique way forward.

What lies behind it matters.

We look beyond surface beauty to the materials, places, makers, and everyday lives behind it—sharing both contemporary Japan and the traditions carried forward through generations.

Our role

We are an independent media platform providing information about Japan. We do not broker real estate, provide tax or legal advice, or handle visa and residency applications.
